Unusual Family Sundays

Family Sundays can be quite the weird occasion in my house when they want to be. I think our "unique qualities" come out when we're together, if you know what I mean. Our 'weird' comes out.

My sister came home for the weekend, she's currently the on the other side of the country on a six month work placement as part of her college degree in something science related, atoms, molecules and the like are NOT my forte but she's my sister and I guess I have to like her even if I do picture her covered in goo 90% of the time. That's life. However, I digress, given that all four of us were in the same house on the same day we obviously went about preparing a good ole Sunday dinner sit down feast.

My sister has been surviving on a lot of pasta and rice so she was craving both mashed and roast potatoes, we had both, along with some whiskey smoked baked ham and a mountain of veg and it was yummy. I've no photos cause I didn't think of it, just think typical Sunday dinner-esqe things, thanks!

But once dinner is finished, that's when things get weird. We sit around, talking, when we were younger poop jokes and references where a constant, comedian Billy Connolly has a lot to answer for when I think about it. This particular Sunday there happened to be an almost deafening sing off between my brother and sister. A torrid affair really.
He was bellowing Time To Say Goodbye - Andrea Bocelli style.
Whilst she was simultaneously singing (being the operative word) The Ballad of Arthur Darvill as sung by Arthur Darvill to the tune of Frozen's Let It Go on BBC Radio One's Matt Edmondson show a few weeks back, its great and really funny if you're a Doctor Who / Broadchurch / Arthur Darvill fan. You can check out the video here
I'll let you picture that for a moment, it was quite the painful experience for my poor ears, better yet play the two videos at the same time and you'll really know what I mean!
From there we proceeded to sing the theme tune to The Fresh Prince of Bel Air together as well as Smash Mouth's All Star and catching up on funny YouTube videos, like moments from the Graham Norton and Jimmy Fallon shows, I am currently in love with Emma Stone and her lip-sink battle is the best!

Like I said it's all a bit odd, but it's family and while I'd be cautious to bring anyone in on it straight away, you do presume that everyone has those unusual moments, whether it be on a Sunday or any other day of the week.

Care to share you're 'unusual' family moments? Make me feel almost normal about mine?
